Dar es Salaam has recently started having Critical Mass rides that start around 5.15pm from Kenyatta Drive "The Green" going into the city approximately 10-14 kilometers around trip. There is no website, however there is an event on Bicycle Doctors page on Facebook for the same.

Calgary(w), The first critical mass rides in Calgary were held in the late 1990s and were initially heavily supported by bicycle couriers until they were threatened with job loss if they would continue participating. The rides still continue to the present, having had the same start place and time, Eau Claire Plaza in downtown Calgary at 5:30 p.m., since the beginning.

The Firefly Brigade is also responsible for the largest CMR in the Philippines called Tour of the Fireflies (TOF), a 40-50km costumed bicycle ride through at least four cities. It is a CMR synchronized in select provinces and largely steered by volunteers. Since it's maiden ride in April, 1999, the TOF.has largely been staged on or around the time of Earth Day. Due to climate change considerations, organizers have opted to move the bicycle tour to the 3rd sunday of November also to coincide with the Philippine Clean Air month celebrations.
The Firefly Brigade has successfully locally popularized the term Critical Mass Ride (bicycles) and enjoy a wide mass base support that has seen multitudes of smaller rides being steered even on weekdays by local bicycle groups.
