History

The first ride on 22nd September 2004 was organized after the City Authorities refused to organize the Carfree day on a weekday and closed some roads from traffic only on a close Sunday. At least 30,000 cyclists took part in the 2006-04-22 demonstration. Budapest Critical Mass rides are legal demonstrations in cooperation with the police, in 2006 even the President of Hungary, László Sólyom took part in the event.
